Vitafit scales typically calibrate automatically. Step on the scale to turn it on, then step off. Wait for 'CAL' to appear on the display, followed by '0.00'. Once '0.00' is displayed, the scale is calibrated and ready for use.
The 'Lo' message indicates that the batteries are low. Replace the batteries (usually 3x AAA) with new ones to ensure accurate readings.
'Err' usually indicates that the scale is overloaded beyond its maximum capacity or that a weighing error has occurred. Remove the weight immediately to prevent damage.
Turn on the scale and place a container on it. Press the Tare button to reset the display to zero. You can then add ingredients to the container to weigh only the contents.
